Senate Close to Passing Congressional Insider Trading Ban
A bill to keep Congressional representatives from trading on non-public information passed a procedural vote in the Senate today. The bill allows the Justice Department to investigate and prosecute members who trade on nonpublic information, and would make representatives disclose trades within 30 days of the transaction.
The Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act looks likely to get voted on in the House of Representatives next month.
