Stock futures were mostly trading flat early Monday as investors awaited news out of Europe and the kickoff to earnings season. Alcoa (AA) reports earnings today after the market closes, marking the unofficial start to the fourth quarter reporting period. German chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy are meeting to find common ground before a European summit at the end of the month.
Dow futures rose 21 points to 12,330; S&P 500 futures rose 1 point to 1,275.2. Lululemon (LULU) fell 1.2% in pre-market trading after the company announced late Friday that its founder would step down as chief innovation officer.
