Mosaic (MOS) rose about 1.3% after-hours following better than expected earnings, although* its revenue came in below expectations.
Mosaic posted 1.40 of EPS, 12 cents ahead of analysts’ expectations. Revenue of $3.01 billion came in short of expectations for $3.2 billion. The company’s phosphate and potash sales volume within the ranges it had projected, although generally on the low end of those ranges. The company sees some short-term headwinds. “While we expect third quarter results to decline due to near-term macroeconomic uncertainty and cautious distributor purchasing behavior, we remain confident of the strong long-term demand prospects for our products,” the company said in a statement.
