Default Geithner: Not a Chance U.S. Loses Triple-A Rating

The U.S. House of Representatives’ Appropriations Committee has been hearing from Peter Orszag, director of the Office of Management and Budget, and from Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, regarding the Obama administration’s budget. (The Webcast is here.)

One pointed remark begging picked up on this morning is Geithner’s pointed rejection of the risk to the U.S.’s sovereign debt rating, reports Henry Pulizzi with Dow Jones Newswires.

“There’s no way that’s going to happen,” said Geithner, “There’s not a chance that’s going to happen to this country.”
