Default HSBC Investments - Freedom

I am quite interested in HSBC Investments:

BRIC Markets Equity

with spread portfolios on:
Brazil 32.59%
Russia 28.44%
China 23.29%
India 15.68%

Don't you think those 4 countries are promising, especially the Russia with the clean oil refineries?!

For Fund Facts see here: Investments: fund, offshore, savings, growth: HSBC Bank International Ltd

Yeah I agree... each of those countries have huge natural resources to be exploited..

Does the investment verify any sector they are trying to penetrate?? because only investment in the right sector according to the country will work...

I am not too optismtic about russia oil industry. News have been circulated that they have only enough production level to fulfil domestic use and that neighboring countries are trying to undercut russia by directly dealing with the major oil brokers

I think so too, but the problem is, china doesn't have many natural resources to be exploited, unlike other like Russia. So, I think this explain why the figures of china is on the third place..

Just to say Brazil is HSBC biggest presence in south america region and I guess the investment are mostly related to banking services where it faces fierce competition with other banks in China, Russia and India but it's the top 10 bank in Brazil so they pay more attention to it.

Natural resources matters but not to that extent, china buys iron ore from countries like India and then it process to higher degree of steel which it partly uses for consumption and sells the rest.If you see once booming economy like japan you can learn a lot ,it is a country with no natural resource but sheer determination had made it the second largest economy.
The growth rate refers to the healthy economic environment and not only its potential.
