As with all bearer bonds, there is a great mystery in regards to how Mexican bearer bonds work.
There is a myriad of articles on-line describing wild prices for Mexican bearer bonds as being the holy grail of investment strategy as it allows to carry a huge sum of money on a bond note. The most valuable debt certificates are from 1930 although such notes are in a very low supply. Bearer bonds are frequently issued by companies in South America as well as Latin America and server as a way to raise money but have become an increasingly used tool to laundry money as they are easily transferred and wont be caught in regular airport scanners. One thing to remember is that these bonds are usually a fraud. Do NOT trust anyone saying they are from a bank, or that they have verified the bond with a seal. Anyone with a laptop and photo shop can more or less verify anything. Conduct your own verification by simply turning the information on the bond to the place you can cash them in. If you cant find a place to cash them in, you most likely sit with a bunch of nicely coloured paper that is worthless. |
