Stocks snap five-day losing streak as buyers find bargains

U.S. stocks finished higher on Wednesday, halting a five-day streak of losses, as investors stepped back in to buy shares after they sunk to 12-year lows.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 149.82 points, or 2.2%, to 6,875.84. The S&P 500 Index gained 16.53 points, or 2.4%, to 712.86, while the Nasdaq Composite climbed 32.73 points, or 2.5%, to 1,353.74
