The world has come to its peak of investment bonanza by the simple fact that there is now a stock exchange operating in Somalia, a country otherwise known as not being able to function for the past 20 years.
But who needs a government when you can have a stock exchange? It is after all only necessary if insider trading was to happen, although Somali warlords probably have other issues to worry about. While the whole world is in financial turmoil, however Somalia stock exchange is booming, sub-listed in Nigeria, and tradeable for investors. Lately offshore companies, competitive foreign investors from around the globe has filtered their money to reach the sub listed Somali exchange. Yes there is dividend payout from the bounty of our fellow pirates, although keep in mind to diversify your investments and not put all your money on one raiding campaign. For the past 3 months the exchange value has soared 500% as foreign investors are flocking to make a return on a modern day piracy. Free market rules seem to enjoy themselves in ways we could never have imagined. Question is now, what happens if someone knows the location of a ship, gives the pirates enough information for a successful raid, yet manages to invest before the campaign is publicly announced? Insider trading fraud? It sure would be comical to see Somali warlords enforce investment ethics to stop insider speculators. Nigeria stock market can be found here: www.nigerianstockexchange.com/ |
