DFJ investing in free newpapers
The investment company Draper Fisher Jurvetson invest in Nyhedsavisen the danish free daily newpaper. Nyhedsavisen has been owned by the icelandic Baugur Group but they have lost more than 500.000 € a day to keep the newspaper running. The newpaper was founded October 6. 2006 as one of the 5 papers starting in 2006. Of the papers MetroExpressm, Urban, 24Timer, DATO and Nyhedsavisen, only MetroExpress, Urban and Nyhedsavisen still publish. Nyhedsavisen is now the most readen newspaper in Denmark. DFJ is know to invest in free service. They are known for investing in Hotmail.com and Skype. They are not unfamiliar investing in Denmark. DJF invested a large sum in End2End 4 years ago. End2End was sold to Mach Group in 2006.
Keep your eyes in Nyhedsavisen i think it could go public in the near future.
