Worlds largest island could hold the worlds largest oil reserve

Greenland the worlds largest island, locates in the artic region in the atlantic ocean, could hold some of the worlds largest oil reserves. The oil industry have increase the budgets for exploring this country and the areas around it by 5000% over the last 8 years. The Greenlandic government (home rule under the danish crown) have signed an agreement with the danish government concerning future oil and mineral industry in the country. This gives the greenlandic people the bigger part of the profit. If the case studies are right Greenland could be one of the richest countries in the world massured in the GDP.
