Universal Detection Technology (Universal Detection Technology) (OTCBB: UNDT), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies that protect against biological, chemical, and radiological threats, announced today that it has entered into collaboration with rdnt.org to track radiation levels in Japan. Approved individuals as well as organizations armed with radiation detection devices are helping chart radiation readings across Japan as the country struggles to avoid a nuclear catastrophe.
Earlier today the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said it will halt imports of dairy products and produce from the area of Japan where a nuclear reactor is leaking radiation. The FDA said Tuesday that those foods will be detained at entry and will not be sold to the public. The agency previously had said it would just step up screening of those foods.
Universal Detection Technology supplies nuclear detection and monitoring systems that include electronic dosimetry and teledosimetry devices. In addition to electronic dosimetry and teledosimetry, other best-in-breed solutions include contamination and clearance applications, personnel and vehicle/cargo gateway monitors and portable survey meters.
