Default New to investment, looking for advice to open an acount

Hello everyone, I'm mike, new to this investment thing. I'd like to start an account for retirement, I'm 23 right now.

I don't have much money now as I'm finishing college, but I would like to start something where I can put money in each month and generate 10% a year. This 10% would be after all fees and payments to whatever broker or service I'm using. I could go lower than that but I do not want less than 8% a year ever.

My plan is to invest 200$ a month for the first 5 years, then 1,000$ a month for about 15 years, and 2,000$ a month after that until I retire.

I really don't want to mess with buying and selling myself, please point me in the right direction, and let me know what problems I might face in the future with this investment idea. Also how much would it cost to start an account, or how much down payment do I need to start something like this?

Thanks!
