Default Curious about "Peer to Peer" Investing

Im curious if anyone can tell me a little bit about peer to peer lending (or social lending). I have a little money socked away in a simple money market account but i would rather put it to work for me. I clicked on a link (unintentionally actually) to prosper.com and read a little bit about their program. I had heard a little bit about P2P lending before that so it peaked my interest. If i understand it right p2p lending allows lenders and borrowers to come together with the help of a facilitator (like prosper, lending clup, or zopa). Im Curious if anyone can tell me more about investing this way. I would be especially interested to here if anyone has actually used prosper. They seem to be the most popular p2p lending group and for that reason they are probably who i would go with. here is a link to Prospers investing opportunities page. If you have used another company though that would be helpfull info as well. thanks!
