The computer gaming world compromises of many aspects, one of them is trading licenses. Licenses can be grouped up in many sub levels all depending on how the different companies decide to deal with their product.
A big distribution company such as EA Games has the money and network to distribute, create and market any game they create and make tons of money out of the most of the games they push out. For people wishing to engage in this world trading licenses is a fast approach. First of all a license trader needs to have the contacts in order, and needs to know people in many different countries in order to do a successful brokerage of the product. A typical case could be that the license trader has very good contacts in 5 countries in Europe when it comes to distribution on disks. Thus allowing this broker to purchase the rights to physically distribute the product in the respective countries he has good contacts in. After obtaining the license if it fits in the production company's distribution model the broker can resell the license to those countries for a flat fee or percentage fee, or both. As a broker the contacts is the far most important aspect to the game of becoming a middle man, which will require the broker to travel a lot as well as being the right places to get to know all the people. Never the less the job is easy once such a broker has established good connections in the gaming industry. This job can be applied to many sectors, from gaming to the movie business and the pharmacy business, as all it takes is to have the right connections and work on contractual basis. |
