Anyone know if they are planning to start developing south of the strip at all, south of Mandalay Bay?

I have no info on that, but I *think* it will be done at some point. Too good of a piece to be left out.

I imagine more development will be slow to start, unless it has already been funded.

I would think too that this is almost a necessity on the strip in order to have more places to develop hotels. I heard awhile back from a timeshare presentation that they were in talks with expansion to the south, but that just could have been part of their pitch!

I would be really hesitant to invest in a business that is so vulnerable to economic and political changes, unless I could get in, make money, and get out within a 4 year period.

Why 4 years? Is that a standard timeframe for investing?

I say 4 years because I am looking at the political impacts. A presidency is 4 years.

I dont think Vegas can take much more development. The economy is on its way down and the tourism is not growing higher at this point. I would not invest in the Vegas hotel. They had an article at Forbes this year, dubbed Sin stocks investment, and from what I remember they did not recommend it.

Real estate company that can not only help you invest your money in the Las Vegas real estate economy, we'll help you make money on your investment. We have had great success with investors purchasing a property, renting the property and when the time comes, sell the property to put the equity into another property or a simply a bank account. The real estate market in North Las Vegas has taken a pretty good pounding lately due to the mortgage sub prime fallout.
