Default Investing in a well developed website?

I saw a forum website which is well developed and has a good set of people and also ranking good with good traffic stats. It is coming for sale for a reasonable rate Was just thinking if there is any investor who had ever invested in a developed website?

I'm actually wondering why you'd want to buy a forum. I think I'm really missing the point here. Can someone please enlighten me on how you can make money in this fashion?

Before investing money on forum websites, make sure that the domain name is credible. Check for its profit strategy too.

I would only get into website investing if it is a product you are willing to support and something with which you have existing familiarity.

Investing in a forum is just like any venture -- you need to do your homework. There are many worthwhile opportunities out there that can be very profitable. These sites get the word out. If you can hone and develop it, it can really be a winner. You just have to use good business sense, like always, to determine if it can help you or your business.

I think you might want to double check where the profit is actually coming from. If it is from advertising, you need to be sure that the accounts can be transferred to you if they don't automatically follow the domain.

If not, you could end up having to build income from scratch, making the site almost worthless, regardless of the amount of existing traffic.
