Default Invest in paintings

I had always wondered why old paintings are so popular and can fetch such a high price in an auction. Now I get it. As old paintings were done by someone who have passed away, you won't able to get a piece of his new masterpieces anymore. So the only way to get any art paintings is by looking for his past works. And if you really like them, you have to pay for them.

Another of my opinion is that it is really a good way to invest your illegal money.I think in those auction, no one will ask where your money come from.

Unless one already has millions, investing in paintings is terribly cumbersome. Climate controlled storage is costly!

Not only is it expensive to purchase them its expensive to store them, insure them, and guard them.

I doubt if these are not considered as an asset so that you can invest all your black money and do money laundering. But there are people all the time who are crazy about arts and some of them are always ready to respect such masterpiece by paying all big money for a single painting. They are not of any profit but just satisfaction.

I agree that this is definitely something that I wouldn't want to invest in. It'd be really hard to get all of your money back and then make a profit on top of it. There's much safer investments available.

You must be already very rich to do that. But for art's sake. That is really a good investment especially if you have the resources to keep it safe.
