i think using every auction site to compare to e-bay is not a wise
it may take sites years to produce trust that e-bay is having(maybe even decades lol)

I think ebay is more secured rather than the new auction site you mentioned in terms of security resons. And they have a lot of powerseller that can be trusted through their selling items. And I think we can trust that auction site if the times come that they build a strong reputation in auction market like ebay.

I can believe what just happened to me .......................

I just spent 30 minutes typing a really long letter thanking you guys for talking about our site and explaining how the site works. Then I hit reply and it said I wasn't signed in. I signed in and my message was GONE! We'll I'll re-write a shorter version this time.

I am co-owner of elfingo.com auctions. This site has been in the works for several years and just recently launched. I used to be a seller on ebay, but their greed has gone unchecked because of their monopoly over online auctions. Now most sellers can not make enough money selling to make it worth all the time it takes to do it. So a few years ago I dreamed up a site that would do things different, and not charge those terrible commissions. I have a small domain name portfolio and elfingo.com just kept jumping out at me as the one to use, I don't really know why. Elfingo was born. We decided early that we would charge only .15 cents to list any item and that we would keep the site simple. ebay is far to intimidating for first timers. Another thing I heard a lot as an ebay seller was " show me how to sell on ebay" from my friends and family. Keeping the site simple makes it easy to figure out for newcomers. A couple ebay sellers that use the site now have told me they like how simple it is to run through and list several items in just a short time.

We are a long way (unfortunately) from making a profit on this, but I dont mind too much, because I know that it will be eventually. I am going to check back and read the comments posted here for ideas how to improve the site. Site looks are not my specailty, but there is a lot of time spent on the internal works. I am going to try upgrading the site looks in the coming months. We are also working toward an upgraded server and more online ads.

Thanks for the thread, I am in shock that someone liked the site enough to write about it.

Bryan G

Hey there go easy....

We have just begun to fight. 4 months ago elfingo did not exist at all, now we have quite a bit going on. We are still writing the programming to improve the look of the site. Look again and see some changes I did yesterday. This has been a work in progress for 5 years, but just recently got running live. Give us a little more time before you say that we can't be a competitor.

Smile Competitor but still new

I haven't heard about it yet... Moreover, although it could be a competitor of ebay, ebay has entered everyone's mind already, it does take lots of time to get people accept new things, I think so... However, please let me know the site by its url or somewhat
