Job Scams...

I believe some of you might seen those advertisement on newspaper or online that offers certain type of job but in fact different from the actual thing, you might get a totally different job, work but did not get paid and pay for some fees where it suppose to give you the job but it didn't. Anyone wish to share or talk anything about this?

I had this experience of finding one when I was looking in the paper for a holiday job. It turns out to be a mlm where we had to fork out a fee to buy the products in order to sell them and they had the cheek to even ask for a cut if we ever break even. Of course, i never took it up

hi nuaeman. I also had being lied by the using name of agent of workers.. I being lied around 2003.. After my graduate its was really hard to find a job.. I go to some factory to factory.. Look at newspaper.. ask from friend.. Finally I get phone call ask me go to interview at Bkt ***. I go there with hope can get the job after a few minutes they ask me to pay them Rm80 if I want the job.. Then because of really want the job i paid them.. I wait around a week.. Then I go to their office and everything is gone..because of my greedy to get the job I don't realize it's no need to pay the company if we want to get the job.. I hope with my sharing more of people not being lied with this *&%#@!.. even do this things being so long happen its never make it gone from my mind..

I'm sorry to hear about that, I heard about those people coming from other countries to here but got scammed where they are offered good jobs but end up doing cleaners and such, some are even graduates. Btw I guess you got a decent job now? What field did you graduate from?

Better investigate first before take a any action. We must know what the company do, how long the company in the industry, how many return profit every year and who the CEO of the company. I didn't believe the agent. I prefer find the job from the newspaper or jobstreet and investigate the company that you want to apply.

alhamdullilah right now i had a good job.. I graduate at Politeknik Ungku Omar Ipoh Perak, Malaysia.. The past make me learn how to make me more strong to pass a future... by the way its was the past story.. its never make me down.. but is make me strong and learn.... and you nuaeman?

That's very sad. I don't think it's your fault. Yea, they scam like that a lot. I heard someone in my country got scammed like that. Because it's common to pay a huge amount of money for a job, they offer fake jobs and run away with the money.
For this reason, you should investigate the office a bit more, find out if the company name is know, if the office guy works alone or with others, and if you're even a bit suspicious, ask around about the guy. If he's a local resident, he's okay, but an unknown guy in the neighbourhood, be cautious. Further. you can check up how long the office room has been rented.
Use your judgement and don't let scammers scam you.

Well I'm glad I have a stable and good job at the moment, I know one of my friend saw one advertisement on the newspaper where it was hiring data entry clerk and the office is somewhere near KLCC. The situation is similar as yours but he didn't get scammed. There are also jobs that is different from what it is advertised and with very little information found mainly on classified on newspapers as well job sites.

Hehe. Yap. Too many work like data entry at many small and big company. Not all of them works. Some of them just create to cheat people. but some of them really exist but most of that job not paying you well. Some people only want to get work but not interested to get small payment. Thats why i heard many my friends complain about that.

Thats happen to my friend too.
He got phone call from a company that ask him to come for interview, but they asked him to pay fees to pay the training lesson plus got free products.

And nowadays, some trading companies in my country do some scam job vacancy.
they place advertise in newspaper and internet. they posted the jobs as Accounting, Fund manager, Finance staff. But the actual jobs is a trader staff.
FYI, trader is not popular in my country and it have low salary.
