Ebay bans other payment processors, only PayPal is allowed.

eBay has revised its policies to only allow one online payment service, PayPal. This comes after speculation that Google is preparing a payment service. So far the reaction among eBay users has been mixed.
I wonder how e-bay could ban a payment processor... The e-bay is supposed to be a concern of PayPal. And, e-gold is naturally a company that has been online since 1996 and always in conflict/cold war with PayPal. Moreover, Paypal doesn`t even like to spell the word "Exchange"...lol.

Hey guys, I'm confused here. What is competition is all about? I mean its like comparing things of different types. Cause I thought amazon is not a payment processor and it is an online store? Same goes for google checkout, they're merchant account not a payment processors too... So instead of this :

payment processors vs payment processors vs payment processors

it became like this :

online store vs merchant account vs online store

I'm confused here, the match is not legit... lol!! Could someone explain here if I'm wrong??

lol yeah i'm thinking the same about this comparison. perhaps i dont see it the way that everyone do (except samanosuke). since no one explain to samanosuke if he's wrong then i guess no one is pretty sure what the comparison is all about

well it is just natural to protect your own interest. there is nothing wrong with that. and i think people who buys in ebay has paypal account. they shoudl stick with it. they should use Google checkout is other merchant shops

i agree with you.if people buy products in ebay then all of them prefer to use paypal.but if people join google programs then Google checkout should be better for them

Well if you don't have more than $1000+ earnings per month than PayPal is most secure one and fees are lower than Google Checkout and Amazon. eBay only accept PayPal as a payment option. I am sure in few times we have Google Adsense payments via Google Checkout.

PayPal is the best. Google Checkout is US- service only i.e it is only available for U.S. purchases. PayPal, on the other hand offers a wide range of options and accepted in 55 countries. Besides U.S. dollar, PayPal also accepts the euro, the pound, the Canadian dollar, the yen and the Australian dollar.

Yahoo Merchant Solutions shopping cart is worth looking at. Although I love PayPal's global reach.
