Default How safe is ebay? And how does paypal work to cover you? Does it work?

I guess there is always some risk in ebay, but does paypal give you any kind of insurance? How does it work? I believe if you never receive the item at all it is possible to determine that, but what if you bought an item like a camera and it arrived broken? are you pretty much screwed?

What experiences have you had with ebay and paypal? good? bad?

no. but must check the seller's profile/ page to find out if the goods once sold will be taken back if defective. this will be usually mentioned, if not you can send a message and ask about it. you can avoid buying if you feel insecure about the reply you get.

i use paisapay, indian kick-in of paypal, now and the experience has been good so far.

I have not had any bad experience with ebay and paypal on the same transactions. However I had a bad experience with paypal when my fund was transferred to another bank account. It took them 5 months to find out that it was an error from the transferring bank. It is very difficult to contact them to get support and answers to your questions. That was only one time but I still think that they have to do something to transfer funds to the right account securely. As for ebay I agree that you have to make sure that the seller has a good reputation/rating before buying the item. There are reviews that can help you decide, although sometimes they are not reliable because some sellers pay people to create a bogus account and give them a good rating.
