Do you mean business/pro account to personal account? Paypal doesnt have merchant accounts.

I assume you mean your business account, in which case I do not see any real reason to bring it down to a personal account if you are already approved for business. All this will do is limit you with regard to the amount of money you can transfer per month and other transactions.

I see.
Yes, you can.

Log onto your Paypal account click on Contact Us > Contact Customer Service. Then, select My Account > Changing Account Type from the categories and type down “Please Downgrade my Premier Account to a Personal one” .

Within 1 week you'll get a notification about it in your e-mail.

Note that downgrading can be done only once. If you upgrade again, Paypal may not downgrade it for you a second time.

Yes, you can. I mentioned it in my previous post. Just follow the instructions:

You can downgrade. Call them. That's what I did recently, in fact. They don't like it, but they can't stop you!

I read somewhere that you had to call them, but I'm going to try those steps given above. I'm interested in downgrading mine to a personal account as well. Thanks for posting this and I'll let you all know if the process worked for me.

Woohoo! It seemed to work. Now I'm just waiting for Paypal to respond to my inquiry.
