Default Paypal and Fraud Prevention

Paypal recently purchased a fraud prevention company and is not using it to make its organization even more secure thn it already is.

I think it was a smart move.

They're not using it

~or~

They're now using it

??????

If they're using it then I'm really happy to hear that they're increasing their security measures but if not then I'm confused as why they wouldn't do this?

Yes, it should be "now" only instead of "not" as the thread starter seems to feel it as a smart move

What was that company which is bought by Paypal? Paypal were always being very safe and nice to see that they keep on increasing their safety

Well, never been a fraud victim of paypal. I'm using it for 2 months now and so far have not encountered any problem at all. I hope I WON'T have any problem with it in the future.

I've used it several years now without any problems but heck the added protection makes me feel even better about using it.

I have been using PayPal for several years, no problems at all. I do keep getting those phishing email, supposedly from PayPal but in reality from scammers. I forward those to spoof@paypal.com - it helps them to fight the crooks.

I have used PayPal for years and years as well with no issues. Why do you think they are not adequately securing our identities?

Mianly becaues most emmbers verify their account with a Virtual Credit card filled in with false information. Hence you're not really dealing with people you think you're dealing with.

My, I had no idea that people were doing this... Now I see where the danger comes from. Doesn't PayPal verify these virtual credit cards?

I hate the spoof emails. I use to spend time forwarding them to both PayPal and eBay whenever I'd get them but have been so busy that I don't even bother anymore.
