well this is good advise to have paypal but I am from Pakistan and can not have Paypal. But azeazeaze we can buy somethings with with e-gold like domains and debit cards. But still think e-gold needs to ad online support.

Well egold has been around for like 10 years while Liberty Reserve just started to become popular, maybe given some time they would be widely used by those shopping sites.

Its true paypal is accepted in many online stores, and even by banks worldwide, its very convenient.
But e-gold isn't very popular in online stores right? I don't think e-bay or amazon accepts e-gold.
I know a few sites taht accepts LR though.
LR has live customer care though...live CHat. It also has Free private messaging...this is very secure. More over, you don't have to reveal your account number to seller.

Well it is hard to understand for me that e-gold is working since 1996 and still not popular as you say it needs to get popular. E-gold is already popular but there is some work required by e-gold authorities to add some more things in e-gold. The past problems are not now that is what i think.

Well I know egold is definitely popular enough to be investigated by the governments and I think what ghous meant was egold has the potential to become even more popular than it is now but that is pretty difficult now due to its current state.

Yap. Its popular. But not really popular in our country, only some group in our country still active with e-gold. I'm already e-gold user since 3 years ago and keep active use it. So, my experience e-gold is the best for me after paypal. So, if some of you think e-gold is nothing, maybe you can try..especially for die-hard of hyip program. Hehe..

I heard people were talking about the shutdown of e-gold as it has poor customer care services and nalmost no online team to hear the grievences of its members. Also, the repeated occurances of frozen accounts makes people look for alternative PPs like c-gold and MB and LR.

Yes, its true. They're getting a lot of money, they can at least put together a decent online help other than the FAQ. It does have potential, but they don't seem to want to spend any more money on it than they do on the scripts.

When he founded e-gold in 1996, Dr. Douglas Jackson, a former oncologist, had a grand vision. He believed his digital currency -- housed on the Internet, backed by gold bullion, immune to inflation and currency fluctuations -- would "improve the material welfare of mankind." Users could convert national currencies into e-gold, then buy and sell goods with any other e-gold account holder worldwide over the Web.
Here's a few questions he answered:

How can e-gold make sure that they're (customers) not using false identities?
E-gold essentially doesn't need to. OmniPay has to, because it handles money. But e-gold doesn't need to, because [a customer] can come in and be Mickey Mouse. But we have his time stamps, his IP numbers, and we also know all of the other accounts he does business with. If his value is still in the e-gold, we're just itching to get the order to freeze it.

Do you ever have suspicions of activity going on in e-gold accounts that may not be legal?
Early on, we had that luxury. Now, generally, we wait until somebody tells us about trouble.
