i don't think that are manny people which use only one e-currency. Maybe they have a prefered one, but they are neded to use more than one if they want to have some profit. I Also do like them and i prefer e-gold, but i also use paypal sometimes.

till date i have been using e-gold and never had a problem despite the fears that e-gold might go down some day but so far so good, i also have an alertapy account but rarely use it...also i would like to open a paypal account but if only they can serve my country, but they are not avaiable to me, so thus far e-gold is the only processor i am regularly using.

I also fear when the serious case happen to e-gold company last time. But finall its solve and we can use e-gold like always. So, no need to afraid to use e-gold anymore. I believe many people want to use e-gold today but don't have time to do that.

I believe egold to be a rather good e-currency as previously they fought to protect their member's account for a long time due to those HYIP and such but of course I believe it's for their own benefits as well. They have been in this field for a long time and still have rather strong database but then it depends what you want it for as I find it more towards to those HYIP stuffs and so on.
