Yes. They are!

Alertpay has announced that it would soon be launching debit mastercards for its users, very soon. In a recent newsletter sent out on 11th Jult 2007, Alertpay wrote:

Keep an eye out for:

More purchasing flexibility online and offline when we release in the next few weeks the AlertPay Debit MasterCards. (stay tuned for more)

AlertPay is a privately owned and managed company founded in 2004 with its office headquarters in Montreal, Canada. AlertPay offers any business or consumer with email to send and receive internet payments securely, quickly and cost-effectively.
Also, in an interview with AlertPay CEO, Firoz Patel, there was a mention of it...

Quote:
How many different funding options does AlertPay has and what kind of fees are we expecting when we are doing any inexchange, outexchanges and transfers?

This is one of the benefits, because AlertPay has many different funding options. All the fees are found on our site at www.alertpay.com.

For funding (deposit) your AlertPay account we have money orders, bank wires, bank transfers, credit cards, and cashiers checks. Soon we will also accept BillPay, and open up our services to European for bank transfers as well.

As for Withdrawal options, we offer traditional check, bank transfers for US and Canada. But soon as we add all of Europe clients may also withdraw to banks there. I shouldn’t mention this but we are adding AlertPay Debit Cards into the options this year (late summer maybe?!).
Also, in their official site:
Quote:
Do you offer a debit card?
We will be launching a debit card in Fall 2008.
Great! One more withdrawal and Funding option. We can directly use the funds in our Alertpay account via DC. Good to know they're working on it!

I hope this debit card will also be offered to Asian countries since the only widrawal option we have for AP is cheques to be sent to our home addresses.

I have been waiting for this debit card for some time. I have wanted it because right now I have a good amount of money in my AlertPay Balance and can't seem to find any sites that give AlertPay as a checkout option. Transferring the money to my bank would take to long and they charge ridiculous fees.
