Once or twice my credit card was used by someone else and my card was never stolen. When I saw the charge I called the credit card and they took it off my bill. They then stopped my credit card and sent me a new one.

My bank card has a visa logo on it. One time someone got my number off the internet and tried to use it. Visa called me the verify it. It was someone in Canada. I didn`t have to pay the charges either. I had to order a new card though. I`m very pleased with visa.

I agree with everyone else here. Somehow your credit card info has been stolen and you're paying for it. Get a new card!

I have a debit card and I am very cautious in using it especially when it comes to online transactions. The best thing to do in order to avoid frauds is to stop using your credit card online. You can use paypal in paying online.

You have a point there. A lot of people get fraudulent transactions online when using credit cards and sharing or divulging personal information. That is why we should all be cautious when making online transactions.

Here are some tips to help protect yourself from credit card fraud.

Do:
* Sign your cards as soon as they arrive.
* Carry your cards separately from your wallet, in a zippered compartment, a business card holder, or another small pouch.
* Keep a record of your account numbers, their expiration dates, and the phone number and address of each company in a secure place.
* Keep an eye on your card during the transaction, and get it back as quickly as possible.
* Void incorrect receipts.
* Destroy carbons.
* Save receipts to compare with billing statements.
* Open bills promptly and reconcile accounts monthly, just as you would your checking account.
* Report any questionable charges promptly and in writing to the card issuer.
* Notify card companies in advance of a change in address.

Don't:
* Lend your card(s) to anyone.
* Leave cards or receipts lying around.
* Sign a blank receipt. When you sign a receipt, draw a line through any blank spaces above the total.
* Write your account number on a postcard or the outside of an envelope.
* Give out your account number over the phone unless you're making the call to a company you know is reputable. If you have questions about a company, check it out with your local consumer protection office or Better Business Bureau.

Regards

Another tip: Don't put your CC details in plain text on your computer. Use KeePass (or similar) to store any sensitive info.

Credit card fraud is increasing each day… whenever you use your credit card, pay attention to your surroundings. As you use your credit card makes sure it’s given back to you every time.
