It's used only for online shopping or anything related to buying from internet.
It's a good idea because giving your credit card informations to every single thing you buy may be risky, because I heard that a credit card can be used by anyone who has the "card number" and "card type" and "verification code".Even if you report a stolen card it would take sometime to get done.

Actually in order to use a Credit Card you need:
1. Card number
2. Name on Card
3. Verification PIN
4. Expiry date
That is what most websites ask for.

About the internet card:
Mine has a wierd policy though, if you deposit money in it, you cant withdraw it again from the bank, untill the card has expired They also advice that you only ad funds to it 48 hours before the purchase.

Oh! This seems like a really great idea! I'm still hesitant to use my high balance credit cards on the internet... it is nice that there are alternatives!
