Formerly the card was a high standard card, a bit like the over hyped Amex Black, yet with limited possibilities compared to the Amex Black. Back in the days Diners bought the card and renamed it Diners Club Carte Blanche and gave the card the same status as the Amex Platinum card. A high end card, although it never gotten used by a big crowd.

Today the card is only carried by selected few and gives certain benefits in the Diners Lounges around the globe, but is primarily held by American citizen. Rumors are that Diners Club plans to relaunch the card and compete against the exclusive American Express Black.

Its not a French card, its owned by Diners Club and is their exclusive card that gives access to private jet hire, 24/7 number and lots of other perks for the rich and wealthy. As far I know, only Americans can get this card though.
