Overall, the credit network you choose does not really make a difference—different credit card companies, Capital One, for example—offer cards on multiple networks. The network affects where the card is accepted, but most networks are widely accepted within the United States, with Visa and MasterCard being the most universal. If, however, you plan on making purchases overseas, the credit network becomes important. Again Visa and MasterCard are the best. Discover, on the other hand, is rarely accepted outside the United States. It might be a good idea to check out an educational site about credit cards to learn more about the basics.
