Default What does charging my debit card as credit do for my credit?

I'm considering getting a credit card and just having it draw from my checking account, would this build credit? Alternatively, I have a debit card that occasionally gets charged as credit, and it gets paid from the checking account all the same, does this affect my credit?

No. Using debit cards is like writing a check electronically. If you have overdrawn your account, however, it will count against you if you don't pay it back immediately. If you are having a hard time getting a credit card to build up your credit score, you can get a secured card from your bank.

It will not have any effect on your credit. You are actually not using any credit just your own money. So if you want to build your credit try to get a store credit card first.
