Default Living Without Credit Cards

My family lives without credit cards, and in fact we're trying to become completely debt free. All credit cards ever did for me was allow me to go deeper into debt than I could handle; I never want to have one again.

Has anyone else gone the debt-free route?

We have lived without credit cards for a few years now, and it is more difficult than it seems. We have a reallly hard time renting cars and planning in advance for trips, but overall we are happier than we have ever been

I haven't used a credit card for almost two years now. I also got deep into debt and having a credit card just isn't worth the problems that debt causes. Yes, it is hard not having thousands of dollars at your disposal but in the long run I am happier now. I just use my debit card and make due with what I put in it.

I congratiolate myself for not owning a credit card. I'm debt-free, unlike my friends who are in dept because of their credit cards. However, there are also advantages of having credit card just especially udring emergency. When my son was hospitalized, I was very thankful for a friend for she let me borrowed money through her credit card.

Every day I think this is the better way to go! It's nice to know there are others not using cc's.

Wow! I wasn't expecting to see so many people who also live CC free. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one out there who doesn't have a pocket full of them.

Oh heck yeah...living credit card free is the only way to go! You don't have to worry about all that interest and you're staying within your budget instead of having to pay years for purchases. We only have out debit cards which are fine for purchasing online or reserving rental cars, hotels and etc...and therefore we can only spend what we have too. No interest that way!

I am glad to see so many people chosing to stay away from credit cards. I do that to. Debit card is so much safer - you spend the money you have, no debt incurred.

I would love to .... but it's going to be a dang long time before I get there. Actually, I have cut back tremendously, but what I've got isn't going to go away anytime soon.
