Well I don't drink much coffee so I guess it doesn't impact me much but sadly like you guys said food prices has been increasing and I'm worried if anything worse can happen in the future like war or something, don't be surprise to see bread cost like having a slice of chicken chop.

I'm not suprised cause it happened in my country when Japanese conquer my country.. Inflation fell upon my country's economy and one egg cost about 60 dollars (RM) LOL, now the crisis is being brought worse because of the food price's hike nowadays, imagine what would happen if we're to experience inflation again... Just pray it don't!!

When a country is developing then inflation generally rises,it is not so new.If you want to get profit from it then you can invest in it by getting in commodity market.Various commodities are listed in such market.Any way if price of coffee increases than you can always switch over to tea

Coffee price is increase when the demand is high. People in Eastern Europe and developing Asian countries have been drinking more coffee as their economies expand.

Yeah, I believe more people drink coffee due to hefty work, pleasure and such, especially countries like China and Russia as I read from wiki. It is known more than 500 billion cups of coffee are being drink each year. Btw anyone here enjoy drinking coffee?

Coffee are popular because of their caffeine, I read about it history. When coffee first arrived to Arabic land, most people there, which of course comprised of Muslims prefer coffee. Well Muslims need to pray 5 times a day, and they really prefer caffeine especially to refresh them up for their night prayers! This is at a true fact, I'm not making stories up! from this we can tell why 500 billion cups of coffee are drank every year..

I'm not confident that the price of coffee will continue upward. In the long run, there are a lot of stumbeling blocks to a higher price, such as:

(1) Coffee is a very thirsty crop that requires a lot of water. Producers will shy away form growing this crop as water becomes more scarce.
(2) Produces are typicall small, out of a total coffee retail market of $70 billions, producers only get $6M because of the lack of negotiating power they possess; thus, producers are at the mercy of their customers.
(3) Tea is rising as a significant competitor against coffee.

All commodities will go up. Loans to increase production are non existent. I feel sorry for people in poorer countries.
