Default Commodity of Tur

Tur or Pigeon Pea is one amongst many other crops that are grown in the world known for its very rich nutritional value and wide use across many countries. This crop is mainly said to be a native of India and was widely spread across as many as 25 countries as of 2004-2005 and may have been easily risen up by today, and is also known by many names in many countries.

Talking about the Production of Tur worldwide, it counts up to around 4 million tons, and India accounting to more than the 80 per cent of the total population, and it is also said that the global production of Tur has increased 40 per cent since 1970’s with the rise of cultivation in many regions in Africa and Asia.

Only in India it is estimated that more than 3.75 million of hectares is used for the Cultivation of this very special plant. As we all know that the Period between June and September is the mail cultivation period and India also imports nearly 4000,000 – 5000,000 tons of Tur per year.
Tur crop contributes nearly 20 per cent of the India’s total Pulses crop production of 12-15 million tons per year. The Yield in India is between 600 – 1,200 kg per hectare.

Climatic conditions are also play a very important and a very crucial bearing on shaping the market sentiments in the case of Tur, Carryover stocks, import and price of other pulse crops are the other major factors shaping fortunes of domestic Tur market.

And the good news is that Futures trading in Tur is likely to be restored soon after the monsoon session of the parliament which is set to pass the much awaited Food Contracts Regulation Amendment (FCRA) bill 2010. This information was directly informed by none other than B.C Khatua, chairman of Forward Markets Commission. (FMC).

Khatua said in 2007 when futures were banned in urad and Tur, that respective prices were Rs 23 and Rs 25 a kg respectively and after futures were banned in these two commodities, there prices starting shooting up.
Pigeon Pea or TUR plant is a crop that is yielded annually, or can be said as an annual crop that is more known for its sweet tasting legumes, and this is consumed as a regular diet in major or most of the countries, it is originated from the family of the "Fabaceae" and is there is also other name for this as CAJANUS CAJAN, lets know about how this plant looks and works.

You also need to have the skill of Decision making. You shall observe that each of these is interlinked. Decision making helps you to take the right decision at the right time. One wrong decision shall make you enter a wrong trade and you shall lose hundreds of dollars.
