Anyone else get the email about a class action lawsuit against CJ? I have not yet had a chance to read through all of the info - what is this all about?

I saw an article that explains the lawsuit. Apparently a settlement has been proposed.
The complaint is that CJ/Valuclick allowed adware to operate within its system and alleges unfair business practices and breech of contract by CJ/Valueclick. |

Wow I wonder how many other companies like this is also doing this, but not caught just yet.

This really does make me wonder how often this is going on unchecked. I have thought for years that CJ was ripping me off - turns out I was right!

I have gotten this email as well. I had used CJ for a couple years, hadn't really made much, but I did not actively promote my site, so I don't think my low earnings were caused by this.

Places like Shareasale and other affiliate sites are probably sweating this one! |

I believe it is the down loading of tracking software by these two spyware/adware companies and the prohibition against others using spyware or adware while using the affiliate services, that has sparked the suit. If one company is allowed to use adware and spyware, everyone has to be allowed to run tracking scripts on their sites, and I don't think that will happen. It is more likely that no one will be allowed to run these scripts. |

Is there anything that we could install on our browsers to prevent the downloading of these scripts?
