Correct. Although once it goes EX. it is CUM the next one!

Don't forget you are usually looking to get the next dividend. Just because they paid last time the company may cut or reduce the next dividend.
Do you actually want income?
Just because a company pays small dividends, you still own your share of the earnings (which are retained by the company)
Also look at the dividend cover (how many times the earnings cover the dividend).
