There are a lot of affiliate programs that are successful. The key is to find a product that you are really interested in. For example, if you are an affiliate for an electronic cigarette, you know that there are probably hundreds of other affiliates out there for the same product, so what can you do to put yourself above them? You create good content, have a good promotional plan and try to reach as big an audience as possible. So with this effort, you will be spending a lot of time familiarizing yourself with the product, its demographic, its features/benefits, etc. So choose something that you are really interested in, make sure it's a profitable niche and do the legwork.
