Liberty Reserve has some problems in the end of May and middle of this month. I wouldn't say it is more secure than e-gold. However, if you take a detail looks in their site, you will know that the transaction fee they charged will be lower than e-Gold. So if you do very big amount of e-currency transferring, it is worth to use Liberty Reserve.
